Your library, respected

Privacy, clearly.

Your library lives on your device. Connecting a source or an optional service also means connecting to that service’s systems.

Updated 15 October 2026

Nolumi is in preparation for App Store release. This notice explains this website and the current app’s data flows. The final release privacy disclosures are still being completed.

Your library and connections

Nolumi stores your library, favourites, viewing progress and parental settings locally. Saved source credentials and library files use encrypted storage, with the local master key protected by Apple Keychain. A separate Nolumi account is not required.

When you browse or play media, the source you connect receives the requests and credentials needed to provide it. Your source and the services it references for artwork or guides may receive your IP address, requested titles and technical connection information. Use HTTPS sources where available; HTTP does not encrypt requests in transit.

Optional services on Mac

If you configure and use Trakt, Nolumi sends movie searches and account requests directly to Trakt. Choosing Mark watched submits the selected movie and a watch timestamp to your Trakt account. Nolumi does not automatically send playback history. Disconnecting removes local access; it does not delete history already stored by Trakt.

If you use OpenSubtitles, your key, account sign-in when used, subtitle searches, language selection and download requests go directly to that service. The chosen subtitle file is downloaded from the URL it returns.

These services have their own retention and use practices. Trakt’s policy describes personalization, analytics and possible advertising uses of content interactions. The precise treatment of third-party API requests is still being clarified before Nolumi’s release. Read Trakt’s privacy policy and OpenSubtitles’ published privacy information; the latter describes its website and does not establish every REST API practice.

Purchases

Apple will process purchases in the App Store release. Nolumi uses verified StoreKit transaction and entitlement information to unlock or restore Pro. Nolumi does not receive your full payment-card details and does not send these transactions to a Nolumi account server. Apple’s own privacy practices apply to its services.

Backups and device services

You choose where to save or share encrypted library backups. They can contain source credentials. Keep the file and its password secure. Library sync is not automatic. Apple’s device-backup and diagnostic settings can separately affect the information Apple receives. AirPlay sends playback to the destination you choose.

This website

This site has no account system, advertising scripts or behavioural analytics added by Nolumi. It does not ask for camera, microphone or location access. Opening a page still sends ordinary network information, including an IP address and browser details, to the hosting infrastructure so the page can be delivered and secured.

Contacting us

Email hello@nolumi.app for privacy questions or requests concerning information you have sent to the Nolumi team. If you contact us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. Please exclude provider credentials, access tokens and backup passwords.

You can remove sources and disconnect optional integrations in the app. For records held by Apple, your media source, Trakt or OpenSubtitles, use that service’s account and privacy controls. We will update this notice as the release and its services are finalised.
